About

Sport and exercise has always been a real passion of mine. My initial experiences in sport were playing football for my local team North Ferriby United before moving on to competing at a national level with road cycling. It was these early experiences that gave me the discipline needed to perform at a high standard whilst also taking particular notice to my body and recovery.

My passion for anatomy and physiology was ignited during a rather lengthy rehabilition of my own. I sustained a tear of the ACL at just 15 whilst playing football and subsequently had reconstructive surgery before working closely with a physio in order to return to sport as quickly as possible. I went above and beyond to ensure my recovery was speedy and this process inspired me.

After taking a 12 month advanced remedial massage course post college my aim was to set up a therapy practice in Hull. This has now evolved into Remedial Massage Hull and I now have over 9 years experience providing great care to all customers.

I love to share my knowledge and passion where possible whilst paying close attention to the conditions that are presented to me.

STUDIES

I have now completed a number of courses to give me an in depth knowledge on health, fitness and human anatomy.

My introduction to remedial massage began when I enrolled on a 12 month sports and remedial massage course at the London school of sports massage. During my time in London I learnt many advanced soft tissue techniques including soft tissue release, positional release technique, neuromuscular technique and muscle energy technique. This qualification has enabled me to assess and treat specific sports injuries with remedial massage techniques.

Adding to my massage qualification I have a level 2 gym instructor and level 3 fitness instructor qualifications which enable me to work closely with clients and help them to achieve their fitness goals.

More recently I have added Medical Acupuncture and Assisted Stretching to my list of treatment modalities and I have plans to expand this list throughout the year with various CPD courses.

GROWING CLIENT BASE

Since setting up this business at the start of 2015, I have had clients that have come to me with problems developed through sport and normal day to day life. After working closely with them on a regular basis we managed to get some good results, improving their performance in sport and quality of life.

Seeing the many benefits that massage therapy can provide has helped me build up a good client base, each coming to me with different problems that are specific to their sport or daily activities.

I have a treatment room in Anlaby which is where I spend most of my time treating clients from in and around East Yorkshire. A small number of clients also use my mobile service from the comfort of their own homes. This comes at a small additional cost but can be a handy alternative for those requiring home treatment.

SPORTING EVENTS

Sports massage is a very effective tool for pre or post event performance. This is why I like to offer my skills at events in and around East Yorkshire for the competitors taking part to benefit from. Events include British Cycling road races, cycle sportives, half marathons and triathlons.

For these events I usually set up a small treatment area within the event HQ or outdoors and offer short treatments of 10-15 minutes to help assist with warming up the muscles or easing post-race aches and pains.
